For the purpose of fixing a seat in a passenger vehicle simply, quickly and securely, it is proposed to provide, as securing means, on the lower part (seat rail, securing bracket or the like) which supports the seat on the vehicle floor, downwardly directed retaining lugs which penetrate through the vehicle floor and, on the underside of the vehicle floor, have clamping wedges passed through them.
