In a motorised X-ray camera using heavy film, intermittent film advance output drive shaft 50 is coupled to a motor via clutch 38/40, input shaft 42, latched spring-biased coupler 44, first actuator having channel 88 and second actuator having pin 86. Coupler 44 is unlatched by a solenoid to move to the left (as shown) and engage clutch member 40 with hollow cylindrical flywheel member 38. At the end of one complete revolution of clutch member 40 (and after relatching), pin 70 engages a cam and moves coupler 44 to the right to disengage clutch member 40. Actuators 46/48 effect a 180 DEG rotation of shaft 50 at increasing angular velocity and a further 180 DEG rotation of shaft 50 at decreasing angular velocity. <IMAGE> |
