Two-wheeled pedal cycle with a fairing which covers the wheels and the drive in the manner shown in the drawing, but, at the same time, also runs in front of and underneath the pedal cranks as a splash protection (1). In addition, a luggage compartment (2), provided with a closable flap (3), is formed by this fairing above and next to the rear wheel. The fairing can be constructed from plastic (glass-fibre reinforced plastic or the like) with a rigid foam core in such a manner that it serves as a load-bearing chassis and a conventional frame is thus unnecessary. With this fairing, optimum protection of the driver and his clothing against whirled-up dirt, spray and oil is ensured; furthermore, the risk of injury on driving and running elements is averted. Accessories, such as a pump, tool, locking chain etc. can be stored safe from theft in the luggage compartment, and pieces of luggage, shopping etc. can be transported in a safe and secure manner. Shopping in various shops is considerably facilitated since the purchases can in each case be locked up in the parked bicycle. A heat-insulating sandwich construction of the luggage compartment walls allows transportation and storage over several hours. <IMAGE>
