The lifting device for a vertically adjustable seat, in particular a vehicle seat, is arranged between the floor of the vehicle and the seat and is to permit a two-stage vertical adjustment of the seat component, the seat component reliably remaining fixed. For this purpose, a support element is held longitudinally displaceably on a rail fixed to the floor of the vehicle, in which support element an eccentric cam is rotatably mounted, which cam engages with an eccentric pin in a supporting bracket arranged on the frame of the seat component. The eccentric pin can be displaced in a horizontal guide and, during the rotation of the eccentric cam, lifts the supporting bracket with respect to the supporting element held on the guide rail. Such a lifting device is arranged on both longitudinal sides of the seat component, in particular in its rear seat area and serves to raise and adjust the angle of inclination of the seat component. However, a lifting device of this kind can be arranged at any corner area of the seat component, the lifting devices which lie opposite one another being combined in the rear seat region and in the front seat area by a transmission tube to form a control unit.
