A cassette for a magnetic tape is proposed in which the magnetic tape is wound onto reels rotatably mounted in a casing and is removed from one of said reels, fed through at least one tape guide and wound onto the other reel, the tape guide being formed from a compound which contains 1) a polyacetal resin, 2) an ester of a higher aliphatic acid and a polyhydric alcohol and 3) at least one surfactant from the group comprising cationic surfactants of the aliphatic amine type, cationic surfactants of the aliphatic amide type and nonionic surfactants. The tape guide has a low dynamic coefficient of friction, excellent failure characteristics and ensures stable running of the magnetic tape in the cassette. <IMAGE>
