Process for the production of metallic sintered articles

A process for the compaction of powders of metals and alloys thereof having a particle size of less than 600 mu m to give pre-compressed articles which are subsequently sintered without a mould, optionally in a reducing atmosphere, and are optionally pressed to completion and sintered to completion. A process for the production of foundry cores using synthetic resin binders in a core moulding machine is used to produce the pre-compressed articles. The particles of the powder are bonded directly to one another on introduction into the core mould of the core moulding machine.
