The water mattress or the water bed has reinforcements which are attached, for example by welding, to the inside of the outer skin, specifically on the side on which the person resting lies. In this case, the reinforcement can also be mounted with spacing from the outer skin and/or have perforations or the like so that the bearing liquid can also penetrate that point. Additionally, the water mattress can be subdivided into individual chambers, it being possible for the chamber walls to have perforations.
