The subject matter of the invention is to produce a device for accommodating a loudspeaker system, especially a stereo system, and/or other objects which are not essential for operation of the vehicle per se and are to be temporarily deposited, such as hats or the like, especially in cars with a rear luggage-space, the said device to take the form of a transverse crossmember which is inserted between the side panels of the vehicle, preferably in an easily removable fashion, accommodates the stereo units at its ends and/or has one or more central recesses for the objects to be deposited. <IMAGE>
