<p>PURPOSE:To decide a character which is same in its shape and different in only its position in a read line, by detecting the relation of a relative position of a line mark and the character in the height direction. CONSTITUTION:Only the part of a line mark 2 in an image of one line portion stored in a line buffer 13 is shifted to a one character portion pattern memory 15. A control part 14 sends height H of an entry character frame 3 to a character recognizing part 16 through a signal line 102, the character recognizing part scans a memory 15, detects a Y coordinate (a) where the line mark 2 is positioned, stores the value (a), and sends a line mark detecting signal through a signal line 103. When the control part receives the line mark detecting signal from the character recognizing part, the control part shifts a pattern of one character portion to the memory 15 from the line buffer 13, from character frame entry position information stored in the control part in advance, and instructs the character recognizing part to recognize the character.</p> |
