PURPOSE:To manufacture a piston without using casting, hot forging etc. and improve productivity by making plastic working such as deep drawing and ironing on a plate as a base metal. CONSTITUTION:A plate X of desired shape is blanked from a plate sheet etc. and set between a punch P and a die D. The plate X is then deep drawn by the punch P and ironed at the same time. A piston provided with a boss part 3 as a piston pin bearing of fixed width extending from the piston head 1 side to the piston skirt 2 side is formed from the plate X by plastic working using a punch P having a concave part. If necessary, bulging is made to provide a piston pin bearing. |
