PURPOSE:To control the surface of material to have a taget temperature and give it plastic deformation to specified tapered form with small loss by moving a heating and cooling devices in axial direction of a metallic material chucked to a tension mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A bar steel 2 is held by chucks 4, 6 of a tension mechanism. At the same time, a heating device 8 and a cooling devices 10, 12 are moved in a body in axial direction of the bar steel 2. Required parts of the bar steel 2 are heated successively and detected by detecting mechanisms 26, 28. Amount of cooling of the cooling device 12 or 10 is controlled according to preset controlling pattern in the cooling controlling device 34 in accordance with the temperature. Thus, amount of heating of the whole material is controlled and a tapered material 2 correctly plastic deformed to tapered form is obtained. |
