Graft copolymers of low molecular weight aliphatic conjugated diolefin polymers of high 1,2 vinyl content with acrylic monomers including certain acrylamide monomers grafted thereon provide alkaline resistant primer compositions that may be formulated into water base and solvent additional aliphatic conjugated diolefin polymer, hydroxy silicones, and crosslinking agent for increased solids content and improves properties.
