PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor superior in contrast, resolution, and photosensitivity, by using a spiropyran compound being decolored by ultraviolet irradiation and a spiropyran compound developing color upon ultraviolet irradiation both mixed and dispersed into a polymer. CONSTITUTION:A layer 2 formed on a base 1 made by dispersing into a polymer a mixture of a compound (A) being decolored by ultraviolet rays represented by the general formulaIor II in which R1 is 1-16 C alkyl or aryl; R2 is H, 1-10 C alkyl, or 1-12 C alkoxy; R3 is H, halogen, NO2, CN, 1-10 C alkyl, or the like; R4 is 1-30 C alkyl; R5 is H, halogen, 1-5 C alkyl, or the like; and a compound (B) represented by the general formula III in which X is the formula IV, R10, R11 are 1-5 C alkyl, phenyl, S, or O; R6 is 1-30 C alkyl or aryl; R7, R8 are H, halogen, 1-5 C alkyl, or the like; R9 is 1-5 C alkyl; and NO2 bonds to the position 6' or 8'. The compounds (A) and (B) may be added to separate layers, respectively, laminated on the base to form a photoreceptor, thus permitting a photoreceptor for use in long life optical apparatuses, and this receptor to have 2 decoloring and light-developing cycles capable of simultaneously displaying 2 different colors. |
