PURPOSE:To form a thin layer of a developer stably and continuously without unevenness by applying a compound constitution, which uses a magnetic material and a nonmgnetic material in combination, to a blade which regulates the layer thickness of a developer supplied to a developer holding means surface. CONSTITUTION:With regard to the cross section shape of a blade 2, the upper half part is longitudinally long and rectangular, and the lower part is a wedge- shaped edge part; the surface 21 of the developer hopper side of the wedge- shaped edge part and the surface of a developer holding means 1 have an acute angle theta1, e.g., 120-150 deg.. The developer hopper side 2a uses a magnetic material (e.g., iron) as one of materials of the blade 2, and the remaining thick part 2b uses a nonmagnetic material (e.g., stainless steel). Consequently, a thin layer of a developer is formed on the developer holding means 1 stably and continuously without causing the unevenness of coating, deposition and blocking trouble. |
