PURPOSE:A whitening cosmetic having high stability to pH, light, heat, etc., improved shelf stability, and good skin absorption, comprising an esterified component obtained by reacting pyromeconic acid with an aliphatic carboxylic acid, as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A whitening cosmetic comprising 0.01-10wt% esterified compound obtained by reacting preferably high-purity pyromeconic acid with a saturated aliphatic acid such as butyric acid, caprylic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, etc. or an unsaturated carboxylic acid such as linoleic acid, linolenic acid, meleic acid, fumaric acid, etc. This esterified compound inhibits tyrosinase activity existing in the skin of the human body, exhibits extremely inhibting action on melanin formation, improved whitening and anti-sunburn action, and is effective against chromatodermatosis. It has improved oil solubility and no toxicity to the human body. |
