PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts used while enabling of versatile use of a counter by resetting to zero two trip counters selectively with one control knob, as provided side by side in an odometer. CONSTITUTION:Digit wheels 3a of a trip counter 3 are each driven to turn with a drive gear 6 through pinions respectively provided on a gear 3c and zero resetting material 8. At the same time, the rotation is transmitted to a drive gear 5 from a shaft 4 to likewise turn digit wheels 2a of a trip counter 2, which allows these two counters 2 and 3 to add up and indicate running range of an automobile separately. Upon the depression of a control knob 17, a lever 12 is turned in the direction C with a pressing section 18a while a zero resetting material 7 is moved in the same direction so that each indicated number of the digit wheels 2a will shift to zero thereby resetting the counter 2 to zero. When the knob 17 is depressed opposite to the direction B after the turning of the lever, a lever 14 and a zero resetting material 18 are turned in the direction C so that each indicated number of the digit wheel 3a will shift to zero thereby resetting the counter 3 to zero. |
