PURPOSE:To prevent a breakdown by permitting a magnetic head to slide on a magnetic disk at a different position when a device starts or stops from the position where the magnetic head is in contact with the magnetic disk when the device is in process of conveyance or interrupted. CONSTITUTION:An arm 2 is fitted with outer and inner strip springs 6 and 7, which meet outer and inner stoppers 10 and 9 to limit the rotational angle of the arm 2, preventing a magnetic head 1 to go beyond the effective range of a magnetic disk 5. The inner stopper 9 is rotated by a rotary solenoid 8. The inner stopper 9 is so shaped that r2>r1 as shown in the figure, where r1 and r2 are radii. When the rotary solenoid 8 operates, the inner stop spring 7 touches the part of the radius r2 and the arm 2 rotates slightly to move the magnetic head 1 outward, thus positioning the magnetic head at its slide position. A stopper 4 for conveyance presses a coil 3 to hold the arm 2. |
