PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a readout error by providing sufficient strength as a structure without making a frame tolerant to external force, by pivoting an optical system, which includes a lens and a reading element, on a readout part side rotatably. CONSTITUTION:The readout part 2 of a reader is irradiated with light from an illumination system 3 and a reading element 6 fitted to an optical system 4 reads information at the readout part 2. A lens 5 is fitted to the optical base 7 of the optical system 4, which is enabled to rotate around the guide 10 of the readout part 2 as an axis to and from a frame while including the reading element 6. The other end 8 of the optical system 4 is supported on a base 6 fixed to the frame 1 to eliminate the influence of the deformation of the frame 1 upon the optical system 4, simplifying the constitution of the reader. |
