PURPOSE:To expand a dynamic range, by dividing a signal to each plural signal level range, and recording these divided signals onto separate tracks on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:An input signal is amplified by an amplifier 2, and afte that, becomes a waveform S1 whose level is below L1, by a limiter 3a, and that which is level L1 or above and -L1 or below is discarded. In this case, an output of an analog adder 3x becomes a signal which has subtracted an output of the limiter 3a from a signal S, and a signal obtained through a limiter 3b becomes a signal which has discarded signals whose level is L2 or above and -L2 or below, from a signal (S-S1). Also, an output of an analog adder 3y becomes a signal (S- S1-S2), and is obtained through a limiter 3c. These signals are recorded on separate tracks on a magnetic tape. Accordingly, the input signal is divided within a signal level range which does not reach a saturation level of the tape, and is recorded. |
