The appts. distributes grain rations to livestock and includes a motor (2) associated to a reduction gearbox for rotating an arrangement of superposed platens (4,5) at a rate of 1 or 2 turns per 1/4 hour. The platens (4,5) have openings (11) between which are contained a hopper (1), a variable volume type doser (7) and a feeding trough (8). The actuation of the motor (2) is controlled by a programmable timer which can be set in V4 hour steps. The timer can also be used to actuate a solenoid which opens a small tap, connected to a water main and controlled by a stop-cock, to mix the food substances. The lower part of the arrangement is pref. intended for the preparation of warm milk made from powder and water. For this purpose, there is provided a thermostatically controlled resistance heater (15) and an additional motor (13) connected to a whisk (14).
