PURPOSE:To reduce the size of an engine by providing a timing transfer device that links a crank shaft and a cam shaft in the middle of a pair of cylinders and thereby directly mounting a water pump on the outerside of a cylinder block. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the rows of cylinders C1, C2 are arranged in V-shape and a cam shaft 5 links with a crank shaft 4 via a timing transfer device 9. A cooling water circulation pump 10 is, displaced from the timing transfer device 9, mounted directly on the outerside of a cylinder block 11. This construction makes it possible to make the mounting position of the water pump of the left cylinder block 11 backed up from the outer end of the timing transfer device so much that the length of the crankshaft of the engine in the axle direction can be reduced by that amount, thereby enabling the miniaturization of the engine. |
