The store stocks and dries solid fuel fragments and feeds a boiler. It has a container (4) which can be stacked and aligned. The two longitudinal walls (5,6) of this are spaced to permit circulation of fuel drying air. The top and base (9) are open. A transporter conveyor (1) passes below, parallel to the container side walls. The conveyor is gravity loaded by fuel from the container, the lower edge (14) of which is on the rear container wall (7) to form a scraper, to determine the depth of fuel delivered.
