PURPOSE:To cope with the raise of the temperature of a fuel and maintain the flow quantity of the fuel necessary for a carbureter by detecting the working conditions of a relief valve which allows surplus fuel to escape from the discharge side to the suction side of the pump to perform the pump control. CONSTITUTION:In the fuel pump 1, its maximum discharge pressure is set at a pressure sufficiently larger than the closing pressure of a float valve 7 of a float chamber 3. A pipeline 6 at the pump discharge side and a pipeline 4 at the suction side are connected by a return pipeline 8, and a relief valve 9 which operates under a pressure less than a cut-off pressure R is provided in the return pipeline 8. when, by the rise of the pressure at the pump discharge side, the valve body 14 of the relief valve 9 descends, a permanent magnet 15 approaches a Hall element 16 to cut off the electric current flow to the pump 1. When the pump pressure decreases, the valve body 14 rises up by a force exerted by a spring 13, and the current flow to the pump 1 is restarted. |
