<p>The feed mechanism is for powdered or granular material, and comprises a flanged housing containing two counter-revolving driven rollers, one of which has an axial track along a part or all of its surface. The housing has a top inlet and a bottom outlet for material. The axes of the rollers have a mutual clearance corresponding to double the roller radius, and the rollers are positioned tightly against each other. They are rotated so that when the tracked surface section of the one roller is at the engagement point it is countered by a smooth part on the other roller. This smooth part has a surface of relatively soft, elastic material. Air channels issue into the bottom of the roller axial track, and are connected to a compressed air source.
