PURPOSE:To decrease manufacturing cost by eliminating intake and exhaust manifolds by providing an intake port of each cylinder at the position facing and adjacent to and forming V-shape with an intake air intake port, and an exhaust port at the same position with respect to an exhaust exit. CONSTITUTION:An intake port 16 of each cylinder is provided at a position facing and adjacent to and forming V-shape with one intake port 17 at a wall of a cylinder block 15, and an exhaust port 18 of each cylinder is provided at a position facing and adjacent to and forming V-shape with one exhaust exit 9 at the other side of the cylinder block 15. Scavenging passages 26, 27 are provided adjacent to the intake and exhaust port apart from and in the direction right angle to a crank shaft 11. By this construction the intake and exhaust manifolds that combine the intake port and exhaust exit are not needed which greatly reduces manufacturing cost. |
