<p>PURPOSE:To fit up an insert to a half-formed part by a simple method wherein an insert heated around the melting point of plastics is forced into a hole formed previously on plastic half-finished goods. CONSTITUTION:A heated insert 3 is put in the cavity formed by an outer punch 9 and an inner one 8 and a half-formed body 2 provided with a hole of diameter slightly smaller than that of the insert 3 are mounted on the outer punch 9. When an upper plate 4 is dropped, the half-formed body are held by an upper punch 5 and the outer punch 9 and the inner diameter part of the insert is restricted by a mandrel 7. Then, when the upper plate 4 falls, the outer punch 9 falls against a spring 10, the mandrel 7 is forced in upward against a spring 6 and the insert 3 is fitted under pressure into the hole of the half-formed part 2 to manufacture a product 1.</p> |
