PURPOSE:To minimize area impossible to print on a recording medium by enabling sufficient access of a print head to the side end thereof with an opening formed on a keyway for guiding the medium to escape the print head. CONSTITUTION:To print the first printing line close to the left side end of a recording medium 8, as a print head 6 moves near this position, the end of a push pin 11 engages a guide piece 10 to push it to bend. This causes a surface section 10' thereof to shift outward so that an opening 3' of a carrying guide plate 3 is opened thereby allowing the print head to move to the position of the first printing line without being blocked by the carrying guide plate. Then, the recording medium 8 withdrawn from a recording medium housing section is transferred with the rotation of a feed roller 2 and an idler roller thereby performing a printing for the first printing line. |
