<p>The powered screwdriver with an automated continuous feed of screws from a magazine has an air turbine powered piston driver with screws fed under compressed air via a flexible tube and trigger control. Screws are fed one at a time into the driver barrel and held there by an elastic gripping mechanism until displaced by the driving bit and driven into the workpiece, and driving bit engagement is effected by telescoping of fore and aft sections of the pistol housing. The controlled feeding of screws is effected via a jack actuated reciprocating slide which receives screws hanging via their heads from a slotted chute, and aligns them axially in the feed tube.</p> |
