PURPOSE:To prevent a mulfunction of a float indicating a liquid level, by applying voltage to an electrode and the float provided on the upper part of a level gauge, and detecting the height of a liquid level by use of an electrooptic crystal. CONSTITUTION:When a liquid level of a tank 1 is varied, a liquid level 6 in a level gauge is varied, in accordance with which a float 7 moves up and down. In this case, when voltage is applied to an electrode 11 and a float 7, an electric field generated between them is varied, this electric field variation is detected by an electrooptic crystal 14, and a detecting signal is transferred to a liquid level indicator 16 by an optical fiber 15. In this way, height of a liquid level is detected. |
