In the case of a process and an apparatus for applying noise-insulating panels, heat-insulating panels and/or reinforcing panels to sheet-metal parts with the aid of a thermally softenable material (cf. Figure 3), the panel (2) is fixed in the desired position on the sheet-metal part (3) by means of a tool (1) and then the heat necessary for establishing the adhesive bond is generated with the aid of an induction loop (4).
