Safety device for processing machines with two or more rotating rolls, in which the rolls limit an entry passage and an exit passage for the plates or panels to be treated. Provision is made for it to include a movable protection or cover member (8) which is located opposite the entry and exit passages (4 and 5 resp.) and runs along them and which is arranged tangentially to the rolls limiting and defining the passages and touches these rolls and is mounted in a freely rotatable manner on the end necks or journals (1', 2', 3') of one of the rolls (1, 2, 3), and for restoring members (13) to act on the protection or cover member (8), which restoring members (13) are intended to hold the protection or cover member in contact with the rolls for closing the relevant passage when the rolls are not in operation and to permit the automatic removal of the protection or cover member from this passage when the plate, etc., passes through between the rolls. <IMAGE>
