The moulded body or porous sintered material comprises pores of which at least 90% are open pores; thereby they communicate between each other and with the atmosphere. Those pores have equal diameters and distribution of the pores is the same in all directions. The sintered material is a vitreous and/or crystalline and/or ceramic mass and has a low thermal expansion coefficient. For manufacturing such moulded bodies, the sinterable material finely divided is mixed with an organic material, and passed into a mould, the organic material being oiled and the material being sintered. |
