The invention relates to a cleaning branch piece which can be closed off and is intended for drainage lines for optional insertion in pipelines in the region of the nominal diameters 100, 125 and 150. The cleaning branch piece has an upper part (1) which is standardised for all nominal diameters and is in the form of a square frame (2) with a lower bearing flange (3) for a cover (5). The upper part (1) is set to the dimensions (x, y) of the smallest nominal diameter. On insertion of the branch pieces (4', 4'') having the greatest nominal diameter, these are connected to the lower surface of the bearing flange (3), the latter jutting inwards to the diameter of the smaller nominal diameter. <IMAGE>
