The invention relates to a two-stage fan, in particular of welded construction, having separate impeller housings and impellers, the impellers being arranged on a common drive shaft, which fan is characterised in that the two impellers are fitted in a cantilever manner on two drive shaft ends of a gear mechanism which is arranged between the impellers. The gear mechanism is a bevel gear mechanism having a drive motor arranged parallel to the impellers. The impeller housings, centred by the gear mechanism, are held by a screwed joint. The base frame of the fan has an elevated central piece for receiving the gear mechanism and the drive motor between the impeller housings. The pressure line between the two impeller housings runs through the base frame. |
