PURPOSE:To produce a liquid crystal display device without a projecting sealing agent, by providing a charging entrance in the bottom part of a recess into which a sealing layer is made hollow in the inside direction of a cell near the charging entrance and charging the organic sealing agent into the recess to seal the charging entrance. CONSTITUTION:On one, at least, of substrates 41 and 42 which have alkali protection coat films and transparent electrodes and are subjected to the orientation treatment, a sealing layer 33 is so screen-printed that the part near a charging entrance is made hollow into a recess 33a and a charging entrance prechamber 34a is formed in a part surrounded with the recess 33a and a charging entrance 34 is formed in a position corresponding to the bottom part of the prechamber 34a. After two substrates 41 and 42 are piled up and are pressurized, the sealing layer 33 is solidified to form a cell structure material. After a liquid crystal material is charged into this cell structure material, an organic sealing agent 35 is coated on the end face in the side of the charging entrance 34 and is charged into the prechamber 34a to seal the charging entrance 34, and the projecting sealing agent protruded from the outside of the liquid crystal cell is removed. |
