PURPOSE:To prevent in advance the damage of a rotary electric machine by detecting the current amount of a brush and its variation in the current by a current detector and inputting the detection signal to a level indicator, a position indicator and a protecting device and the like. CONSTITUTION:A current detector 9 which detects the current amount and the variation in the current is provded at the energizing part of a brush 3 slidably contacted with a collector ring 1 of a current collector of a rotary electric machine. The detection signal of the detector 9 is inputted to a level indicator 11 which indicates the level, a position indicator 12 which indicates the position of the detected position, and a protecting device 13 which stops the machine by the detection signal. A monitoring device is thus constructed, thereby early discoverting the unbalance in the currents between the spark produced at the brush of the machine and the brush and preventing in advance the damage of the machine. |
