The invention relates to a process for pressing a socket onto a corrugated pipe 1. The intention is to achieve a high-capacity process which is suitable for mass production. According to the process, the end 1a of a corrugated plastic pipe, which plastic pipe comprises an outer wall 11, which has been configured by alternating annular ridges 111 and annular grooves 112, and a cylindrical inner wall 12, which has been fused to the grooves, is positioned in such a state that the said end has been forced into a socket-forming space in an injection mould 5, which has the socket-forming space between its core 51 and outer clamps 52,52'. Molten resin is injected into the socket-forming space 53 for melt- softening of the end of the corrugated pipe, using the resin heat. The ridges are pressed whilst the greatest part of the air enclosed between the ridges and the inner wall is evacuated from the socket-forming space, by means of the resin pressure, for fusion of the resin to the end thereof. <IMAGE>
