PURPOSE:To improve a storage characteristic and the leakage resistace by forming a layer made of cadmium, tellurium, etc. for a separator of a silver oxide (II) cell. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode composite agent 2 covered with a silver layer 3, a separator 4, an electrolyte impregnated material 6 are housed in a positive electrode can 1. A negative electrode composite agent 7 is housed in a negative electrode can, which is fitted into an opening of the positive electrode can 1 using a sealing gasket 9 as a medium to seal hermetically and make up a silver oxide (II) cell. In this case, the separator 4 is provided with a layer 5 on the face touching the positive electrode composite agent 2. This layer 5 is made of cadmium and tellurium, or they are added with some items selected from lead, mercury, thallium, germanium, yttrium, tin, tungsten, lanthanum, rare earth elements, zinc, selenium, and aluminum.
