System and arrangements for orienting and inserting of round timbers and lumber blocks for splitting by sawing and/or milling, reducing, wherein the object of the splitting is continuously controlled on the basis of registered profile data, centred and positioned in a data- controlled quick-adjusting positioning cylinder with two or more moveable guide rolls, position orienters, followed by one or more rough and fine centrers with corresponding continuous following guide rolls like those of the position orienters, but placed pairwise or nearly pairwise vertically and horizontally, so as to continuously co-ordinate the centre axis, centre of volume, of the object being split with the centre axis of the splitting line.
