PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of dry surfaces of fin, by forming a slit at the portion where the dry surfaces tend to occur. CONSTITUTION:A finned heat transfer pipe 11 of this invention consists of the pipe 11 itself and many fins 12 fitted around the circumference of the pipe 11 in a unitary manner with the same. Further, many circumferential grooves 13 are formed in the surfaces of the fins at one side or on both sides of the same, and a slit 14 are formed at an upper portion on the latter surface, i.e., at the portion where dry surfaces tend to occur. With such an arrangement, mist flow travelling perpnedicularly to the axis of the pipe 11 collides against the slit 14 formed on the surface of the fins 12, and mist contained in the mist flow is captured by the slit 14. Liquid thus captured by the slit 14 flow into circumferential grooves 13 formed in the surface of the fins 12 and spreads over the surfaces of the fins by the capillary force, so that the portion on the latter surface of the fins 12 having a tendency to develop a dry surface is wetted and coated with water film. Therefore, the area of the dry surface 6 can be reduced to a large extent. |
