PURPOSE:To conserve power by terminating unneeded dehumidifying operation for certain duration of time when the air humidity of a room decreased to a preset value during dehumidifying operation in an air conditioner that automatically switches cooling and dehumidifying operation. CONSTITUTION:In cooling operation a valve 8 closes and a valve 9 opens to circulate coolant from a condenser 1 to an outdoor heat exchanger 2, cooling capillary 5, 6 and to an indoor heat exchanger 3, 4. In dehumidying, the valve 8 opens and the valve 9 closes to circulate the coolant in the direction of arrow heads. When a dehumidification switch is thrown in, cooling operation decreases the room temperature T and dehumidifying operation starts at the temperature TL. Then the temperature rises gradually and the cooling operation starts at the temperature TH. When the air humidity phi of the room decreases to a preset value of phi0 the dehumidifying operation stops and, after a certain duration H0, the dehumidification starts before the temperature reaches TH. |
