PURPOSE:To inspect the dynamic functions of a pointer automatically by measuring the movement of the boundary of contrast between a pointer and a scale plate and the time intervals produced by said boundary in two regions by means of an image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:The indicating nameplate 1A of an indicator 1 is illuminated and is scanned with a TV camera 2 via a mechanical mask 4. In the video thereof, the secular change of the point P1 of intersection of the pointer 1B and a reference line 7 in the window 4A of a mask or the XR coordinates of the point PR is detected with a decision control board 5, whereby the oscillations of the pointer 1B are measured and displayed 6. Next, the reference lines 7', 7'' are set in the respective windows 4A, and the time when the pointer 1B appears on the line 7' of one window and the line 7'' of the other window is detected, and from the difference in time thereof, the damping characteristics of the pointer are decided with the board 5 and are displayed 6. Thereby, the dynamic functions of the pointer are inspected automatically. |
