PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of heat transfer, by increasing the capillary force by forming grooves such that the width of each groove is made small at the base portion of the fin and made increased gradually toward the top. CONSTITUTION:A fin 6B of a heat transfer pipe 6 is shaped such that its thickness is large at its base portion 6B1 and decreased gradually toward the top, and the top portion 6B2 of the fin 6B is shaped to have a curved surface. Resultantly, each of elongated grooves 7 defined between adjacent two fins 6B has a small width at its bottom 7A but the width is increased gradually toward the inlet portion 7B. Thus, since the curvature of liquid in the grooves 7 can be reduced, capillary force of the liquid is increased whereas the gravity force of the liquid acted in the opposite direction to that of the capillary force is decreased, so that water film produced in the grooves 7 spreads to the tops 6B2 of fins 6B. Therefore, heat transfer through vaporization of the water film can be promoted effectively. |
