WATER HEATER BY CATALYTIC COMBUSTION BURNING

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a heat exchanger and the life of catalyst by providing two catalysts in series and by providing a heat exchanger to water behind the catalysts positioned at the back and between catalysts and behind the catalyst at the back. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst body 3 having an oxide catalyst is held on the surface of a catalyst holder with a large number of small holes 2 inside a burner cylinder 1. A small burner cylinder 4 is provided in the upstream side of the catalyst body 3 inside of which is provided a small catalyst body 5 having a large number of small holes 6. An air passage 7 that supplies combustion air to the catalyst body 3 is provided between the burner cylinder 1 and 4. A heat exchanger 9 having many heat exchanging tubes 8 is provided at the front of the catalyst body 3. The heat exchanger connects to a spiral heating pipe 10 via a connector tube 12 and a water supply pipe 11 is connected to the upstream of the pipe 10. A hot water supply pipe 13 connects to the upper part of the heat exchanger 9 and an ignition plug 15 is provided in the vicinity of an exhaust port 14 of the combustion gas of the catalyst body 5.
