<p>The bogie has a rigid frame with two sole bars (14) and wheels (32) mounted on axles (23). There are axle boxes (22) housing the axles and sliding vertically in the sole bar ends. Equaliser arms (24) are mounted on the axle box tops. Flexible pads (54) are placed between the axle boxes and the equalisers. This gives limited axle radial movement following sliding at the wheel/rail contact point. Two vertical linings (42,44) are provided at each sole bar end to allow the axle box to slide vertically. The linings have flexible parts to give limited axle box longitudinal movement.</p> |
