An electrical box for recessed mounting in a wall or other building structure comprises an essentially cylindrical box body 10, provided with a bottom, from whose envelope surface at least two branch pipes 13 emerge perpendicular to the centre axis of the box body, and at a distance from the open side of the box body. To enable a secure fastening of the box in an opening in a wall, the box body 10 is provided with a thin external sheet 18, which in the installed position will be outside the branch pipes 13 and it can be nailed or otherwise secured to the wall. The sheet 18 can be formed as a single piece with the box body, but it can also be formed as a separate element, which is fastened to the box body in suitable manner, for example, at the branch pipes 13. A loose sheet 18b-d can be provided with spacer elements 21 corresponding to the difference in thickness between a thick and a less thick wall cover panel 18a, 18b. For boxes to be recessed in a plastered wall, the sheet 18e is conveniently provided with perforations 25, 26 to an extent which allows the applied finishing mortar to adhere to the backing through the sheet. <IMAGE> |
