[Also in Divisions D1 and F4] A dish-washing machine includes a vat 20, a basket 22, 23 for dishes removably lodged in the vat, and a portable driving unit comprising a rotatable impeller 10 coupled to an electric motor 3 through reduction-gearing housed in a casing which may engage with a slideway 21 in the vat. The impeller has radial vanes or ribs, and the reduction-gearing may comprise a belt and pulley system (Figs. 1, 2, not shown) or worm and worm-wheel gearing coupled to the impeller through a flexible or inflexible shaft (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). The driving unit may be attached to the vat by clamping means (not shown). The machine may be adapted for washing clothes (see Division D1) and the driving unit may be adapted to drive a centrifuging basket (see Division F4).</p> |
