PURPOSE:To reduce the number of expensive component parts, by connecting a paper-feeding roller and a cam to a motor through respective clutches, detecting a movement of a movable body toward a platen by a detecting switch, and outputting a printing enable signal. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a motor 15 is transmitted to a paper-feeding roller 13 to feed a paper such as a receipt paper, a journal paper and a slip paper, or a cam 30 is rotated by the motor 15 to turn an equalizer lever 19, thereby displacing a movable body 5. By this, a printing element 9 (dot printer head) is moved toward or away from a platen 12. When the movable body 5 is moved to the side of the platen 12, a detecting switch 33 is operated in conjunction with the movement, and a ready-for-printing signal is outputted. Since the head 9 can be separated from the platen 12 in this manner, it is possible to reduce the number of expensive component parts. |
