The device is used for the cable control of automobile ventilators and is mfd. from a plastics material. A lever has an integral spring displaced sideways, thus providing both constant friction on a curved surface and a method of retention when inserted through the slot in the facia portion. An operating knob is moved manually and a number of intermediate positions are determined by the presence of small depressions on the surface of the curved rail. The curved surface and the facia portion are made from a single piece of moulded plastics. The end of the spring has a rounded portion to make a point contact with the curved surface acting as a guide rail.
