PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of underclad cracking by welding only the parts vulnerable to generation of underclad cracking into two layers by the combination of narrow width and broad width beads and making the thickness thereof equal to the thickness of single layer welding. CONSTITUTION:First, preliminary beads 1 of >=13mm. bead width and 4-7mm. max. bead heights are welded to base metals. Thence, fore placed main beads 2 are melt stuck in overlap with the beads 1 and further post placed beads 3 adjacently thereto. At this time, the beads 1 are melt stuck at the pitch subtracting the bead overlap from the width of the main beads 2,3. The main beads 2,3 are melt stuck in overlap with the beads 1 by>=20mm. when the width of the beads 1 is >=20mm. or overlapped on the beads 1 in a such a way that the allowances for projection from the beads 1 are kepr within 7mm.. If the width of the beads 1 is <=20mm., they are melt stuck in overlap with the beads 1 in such a way that the allowances for projection from the beads 1 are kept within 7mm.. |
